Lassen County’s Real Same-Day Arrest Window
No page labeled a 24-hour arrests log exists here. The same-day route runs through the Citizen RIMS Arrests search, which lets you set the date range to today or any rolling window. It logs arrest events reported by the Sheriff's Office. It makes no promise that a listed person is still behind bars.
Pair it with the Incarcerated People view for current custody and the most recent Lassen County Jail bookings. The labels matter. "Current inmate" means held right now. "Recent booking" marks an intake event and can include someone already released, since an arrest record may linger after release.
How to Find Who Was Arrested Today
Start with the view that answers your exact question. Then, when minutes count, call the jail for custody directly. The two official screens overlap heavily, yet their labels answer different questions. Knowing which label means what saves time.
- Open RIMS Arrests and set the date range to today. Search by name when known, then inspect the arrest date, time, location, charge, and agency.
- Open Incarcerated People to check current custody and the newest bookings. Review booking status, number, agency, charges, bail, and release information.
- If an event is too new to appear, call the Lassen County Adult Detention Facility at 530-251-5245 and ask what identity details are required.
- For a copy rather than urgent status, use Lassen County NextRequest and give the person, date, agency, and desired material.
Spell names carefully and try variants. Entry formats differ across records. Suppose an arrest row shows up while the custody list stays blank. Release may explain the gap, or the two views may simply update at different times. Neither screen tracks what a court later decided.
Fields in Today’s Lassen Arrest Results
RIMS keeps arrest facts separate from booking and custody details. Each field belongs to its own record type. An event entry, read carelessly, can be mistaken for present detention. Reading fields in their source context prevents that error.
| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Arrest date, time, location | When and where the reported event occurred, not when jail intake finished. |
| Name and descriptors | Name, age, sex, race, and physical details used to distinguish results. |
| Charge code and description | Charges entered with the event; one arrest may have several charges. |
| Booking number and date | Jail intake identifiers in current or recent booking detail. |
| Agency and status | Original arresting or booking agency and available custody status. |
| Bail and release | Recorded bail totals or release indicator, not a final outcome. |
| Photo | No public arrest or inmate image is enabled in current RIMS. |
The custody manual lists further fields that may exist: booking time, factual circumstances, holds, court dates, current location, and release manner. Not every detail is searchable or disclosable, and the manual makes no such promise. The official Citizen RIMS landing page identifies the county-run search portal where these records live.

The captured landing page helps distinguish the official county source from secondary publishers.
Why a Lassen Booking Can Appear Late
Several distinct steps sit between handcuffs and a public record. Arrest, transport, intake, booking completion, review, and web refresh are separate events. An officer may arrest someone in Susanville or far outside town. The Adult Detention Facility only records a booking after arrival. Identity checks, property inventory, medical screening, and charge entry can all happen first.
Lassen County publishes no refresh interval or posting deadline. The manual calls a booking sheet a permanent record. That permanence sets no publication clock. So a person can sit in transport or intake. Both public views may still show nothing.
- Arrest time
- When the reported arrest occurred.
- Booking time
- When the jail recorded intake.
- Portal update
- When selected information became publicly visible.
- Disposition
- The later court result, which RIMS does not decide.
Note: Give intake time to finish, then recheck, but call the detention facility directly when you need a custody answer right away.
Current Custody Is Not the Arrest Event
The inmate list answers one question: who is at Lassen County Jail right now. The arrest search answers another: whether an arrest event was recorded today. A person may be cited out, released, bailed, transferred, or held, and the two screens will not shift at the same moment.
| State | Best official source | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Just arrested | RIMS Arrests, then jail phone | Transport and entry can delay display. |
| Booked or held | RIMS Incarcerated People | Recent bookings may include released people. |
| Released | RIMS Arrests or records request | Roster absence is not dismissal. |
| Court stage | Lassen Superior Court | New matters may not appear immediately. |
A release indicator speaks only to custody. It says nothing about whether a prosecutor filed charges. Total bail tells you a figure, not whether anyone paid it or how a case ended. For that, only the court file follows the matter through.
No Public Photos in Today’s Arrest View
The jail photographs every person front and profile at intake, usually again before departure. Publication is a separate act entirely. Current RIMS settings disable arrest and inmate photos, so Lassen's official same-day paths are text-only even when a photo sits in the custody file.
A private image floating around proves little. It may be old, copied, incomplete, or tied to a corrected record. Confirm the event in RIMS and custody with the jail, then ask the records custodian for any segregable photograph. Release still depends on review and lawful redaction. The Lassen Jail Procedures Manual documents intake photography.

The manual explains the gap. A photo can live in jail files while never appearing online. That is why the same-day arrest view stays text-based.
Sheriff App Alerts Are Not Arrest Listings
The Lassen County Sheriff CA app carries public-safety news, report forms, and tip functions. It works as a channel, not a database. The app offers no live booking roster, no booking-photo feed, and no arrest alert system. Citizen RIMS remains the official same-day record path, and structured data lives there.
An app announcement may cover one incident. Routine bookings post only in the records system. Treat agency notices as communications rather than proof that a full day has published. The two channels update on their own schedules because they serve different jobs. The official app listing shows the separate public-safety channel.

The capture distinguishes sheriff communications from the county’s arrest-record interface.
When a New Lassen Arrest Is Missing
A blank search can mean many things. Timing and spelling both produce the same empty screen. So do exclusion and another agency's record. RIMS states plainly that juvenile offenders and sensitive calls are excluded. Victim material may be restricted. So may investigative files, sealed and confidential data, and safety and security information. Absence from the public view does not prove an arrest never happened.
For urgent status, call the detention facility at 530-251-5245. The Sheriff's office is listed at 1415 Sheriff Cady Lane, Susanville, administrative phone 530-251-8013. Some detention documents use 1405 Sheriff Cady Lane. Confirm by phone or follow the destination's own address.
After intake, the VINE Arrest Check handles custody notifications. Navigation also opens a wider Arrest Reports view and the county hub. Each route answers a different records question.
Arrested Today Does Not Mean Guilty
Lassen County Superior Court takes over once a booking becomes a case. Arraignment for an arrestee held in custody generally falls within about 48 hours, with Sundays and holidays left out of the count. A morning matter can lag before it shows in the online calendar, so patience helps.
